Tried it tonight and it was a major hit, even with my pre-teen, picky eater carnivore son! I stir-fried (in sesame oil) some chopped savoy cabbage, some leek and some carrot splinters just to add a bit of color and extra vegetables. Next time I might try some red pepper for the vitamins. Love your website!

Hi Libby,

I haven't tried Quorn Turk'y Roast. It contains eggs and VB would like to avoid eggs as much as possible, so we've stuck to Tofurky. I am curious to try it though. It sounds delicious. Maybe next year!

Have you tried the Quorn Turk'y Roast? I've made it for the past 4 years and absolutely love it. The directions say to bake it, but I find that it turns out best when I put it in a roasting bag, slather it with olive oil, sage & salt and pepper, and then roast it at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes. The texture is great, the olive oil keeps it juicy, and it makes the most delicious leftover "turkey" sandwiches ever!

And no, I don't work for Quorn :) I just love their fake turkey!

Hey there CG!!! Yes I am totally stalking your blog. haha...I just wanted you to know that there is totally a way to deep fry and be clean...I make my own falafels too and don't have to worry about spillage. The falafels always come out nice and light, not too greasy if they're fried right.

Baked beets with pistachio butter, I like the sound of that. Almost like a riddle with all that alliteration. Well, I also like how that sounds as a dish. :-P I've never had pistachio butter, but I don't see how it could not be tasty.

P.S. I still don't see how canned beets can taste like baby corn. I assume that means canned baby corn? Many canned things taste alike, but beets and baby corn, I just don't see the connection...
